And the Journey goes on...

Well we have been back from Colorado over a week now and I am just now getting back to my routine.  We came back and went from looking for a Mini-Van to looking for a camper.  This morning Andy went to Rainsville and finally found one that did not have water damage.  :) We leave for the Smokies on the 17th to go camping.

Colorado Trip was absolutely wonderful we had such a great time.  The flight there was pretty stressful and we were exhausted by the time landed and then we got the rental car and went to EAT.  After we left from eating we headed for the hotel and well we got lost.  It was 9:30 our time before we made it to the hotel.

On Sunday, we went to church at Columbine Church of Christ with a close friend (Kaleena Cain Treybig) that had gotten married and moved there.  We went and ate with Kaleena and Giff at a wonderful restaurant but I can't remember the name of it now.   We left there and went to the Rocky Mountain National Park to see snow.  As we were coming through Estes Park we saw Elk in the median at a red light. We could only go 11 miles  down Trail Ridge Road beacause there were 12 to 15 foot snow drifts. The mountains were absolutely beautiful.  I have never seen anything like it and of course pictures dont do it justice. As we were leaving we stopped in at the Beaver Valley Visitors Center.

On Monday, Andy went to his conference and the rest of us went to the Hammond's Candy Factory and the Denver Children's Museum.  It was suppose to rain and never did.  We went back to the hotel and the kids got a great nap and I got laundry done.  We met Andy for supper and Chili's.

On Tuesday, Andy went to his conference and the rest of us went to Canun City to Royal Gorge.  On our way there just north of Colordao Springs we stopped for gas and got caught in a hail storm.  My Father in law was ordering coffee as it was hailing on the guy at McDonald's.  That was such a weird experience.  it had hailed so much that it was freezing to the rodes and looked like snow had just fallen.  We finally made it Royal Gorge and we rode the train through the Gorge and that was so beautiful. We didn't get to see any wildlife but the view from the open train car was awesome. The boys loved riding on the BIG train and we got our picture with the Conductor.  We drove back and met Andy at Casa Bonita in Denver for supper.  The boys absolutely loved eating there.  The cliff divers and the little skits entertained them so much they didn't eat anything.

On Wednesday, Andy went to his conference and the rest of us we stayed around Denver and went to Red Rocks Ampitheatre.  It was another great experience that I am so glad we went to.  It was nothing that I had ever imagined it looking like.  The Rocks were HUGE.  There were 69 rows and all kinds of people there exercising.  The view from the Top was amazing.  The decided to eat there in the Red Rocks Restaurant.  They had a wonderful Tortilla soup and ceaser salad.  :-)  Then we went to Buffalo Bill's Museum and Grave andy got out early and met us there.  We then went and ate at White Fence Farm and had a horrible time.  I was so disappointed in the service and people there.  Just so my kids could have a cup with a lid I was going to have to pay for it.  The served kids drinks in an small coffee like cup (not ideal for kids people).  Then they had an indoor slide area and they were very rude on not letting the boys slide because they were to small.  the lady told me "well they need to eat more chicken" ugh. I will stop talking about that it still makes me mad.

On Thursday,  Andy went to his conference and the rest of us went to the Denver Zoo.  It was Amazing also, the kids loved the monkey's  ;-)  we actually did not finish seeing everything because we were so give out and they were adding more to it.  We met Andy for supper at the Denver Aquarium.

On Friday, Andy went to his conference and the rest of us stayed around the Hotel and packed up so we would not have a lot to do when we got back from our day.  We met Andy at his Conference Hotel and headed off to the Continental Divide.  We Stopped at Echo Lake and FROZE. Then went up to Summit Lake and it was Frozen over and 32 degrees and extremely windy.  we came back down and then to Loveland Pass up to the Continental Divide and back down through the tunnel.  We were able to get our picture at the Continental Divide Sign but were freezing.  They also had about 10-12 foot snow drifts.  As we were coming down the mountain we passed several ski slopes and people were skiing and the boys though it was so neat.

On Saturday, we made our journey back home.  When we landed in Atlanta we heard that a plane had caught on fire on the runway so our plane was late leaving.  Thank goodness though cause our arrival plane was late getting to the gate because of the plane on fire and also had to go from Concourse C to Concourse A (ride the tram to get there)  this was not easy I had to abandon Andy the boys and his parents because my ticket would not print in Denver when we left.  I was so scared that I would not make it and fly back with them.  But we all made it back safe and together.

We had such an amazing trip.  I just wish that Andy could have done everything that we did.  I took over 1300 pictures and wish that I could post them all.  My hope now is to keep being able to travel with him to all his conferences.  hahaha.  Well, I am glad that I was able to remember mostly everything that we did and I am sure I left something out.

Life is full of surprises...

So much ha gone on since I last posted. Which I actually think I posted something after Easter but I guess it never actually posted. So...

The Saturday night we got home from my great Aunt's Memorial Service in Clarksville, TN; we end up at the Hospital with Kyle for two nights. It was a roller coaster of emotions and scary all at the same time. He was having abdominal pain, blood sugar was high (364) and heart rate was like 130-135. He was in a lot if pain for a two year old. They checked him for everything from appendicitis, to intesticitus, to childhood diabetes. They ran CT scan, ultrasound, and x-ray. They also took his blood every four hours. In a 24 hour period they took of 24 vials of blood. We had a check up two weeks go and we still aren't totally sure except for him having constipation. In the CT scan it showed his bowels full of stool. So now we give him miralax at least once a week.

I had a wonderful Mother's day. I got a manicure and peticure gift certificate and plan to use it Thursday!! :) we spent lunch with Andy's mom and then went to see my mom later at church.

Well, we fly out Saturday for Colorado. We are really looking forward to our trip. Hoping that everything goes smooth. But with three kids there are always bumps. Hahaha We will be visiting the Denver Zoo, Hammonds candy factory, Rocky Mountain national park, Royal Gorge, Denver children's museum And probably a Rockies game but not sure yet. The boys are so excited about flying on an airplane.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel there and back.

So Behind......

Wow!!!  I wrote on my blog last night and got up to date but then it disappearred.  So today I am going to try again.

We have been so busy.  I had someone tell me "well when you get some down time" and I laughed and said what is that. hahaha

We were not able to refinance thanks to our appraisial.  So I am so disppointed I won't get my bedroom furniture yet.  :(

We will be going to to Denver in May for Andy's Conference.  The kids and I are tagging along with him and his parents are going also.  We are looking so forward to that trip.  It is definately a BIG trip for us.  While we are there I will get to see a good friend and can't wait.  We are planning to go to the Denver Zoo, Candy Factory, and several other things.  Please pray that we have a fun and safe trip.

We have been going out on the boat the last few pretty weekends.  2 out of the 3 times we have gone has been horrible but when we went on Monday all the kids were great and had a good time.  Hoping for more fun later this summer.

Monday we received sad new that my great Aunt Elaine Jenkins passed away.  Andy, myself and Adeline will be traveling on Saturday to the Memorial Service in Clarksville, TN.  The boys will be staying with my in laws.

Hoping we have a good Easter with the kids.  This is the first time in 5 years and Andy I have been home for Easter.  We are normally at Lads to Leaders Convention in Nashville, TN.  So we are kind of lost on what to do.  hahaha

Well, I better get off here AGAIN and get somethings done.

Time is flying by...

Wow I can't believe it is April already!! Where did the first three months go.

A year ago this month Andy started his job with TVA in Chattanooga. Since then we have had our house on and of the market several times. We have prayed so hard for it to sell so we could get closer to Chattanooga, but we are so thankful it did not sell quick. We both agree we would have hated moving away from our families. We are staying right where we are in Grant, AL. We have added a few things to the backyard like a swing set for the kids, fire pit and patio for us and then also moved our swing to the backyard. We are enjoying being outside more now.

We hope to close on our refinancing by the 14th of the month and then we are getting new bedroom furniture. Yea yea yea I am so excited. We have waited so long to get it and finally are able to.

We enjoyed the day outside today playing and then this afternoon while Adeline and Kyle napped I was able to clean the floors and do laundry and a few other things inside the house. Did not get everything done but most of it.

Hoping tonight I get better sleep and I sleep all night. I have had this tickle in my throat and it won't go away with me nursing I just can't take anything unfortunately. So most of the time I just deal with it.

6 months and counting...

My baby girl is 6 months old today. She is growing like a weed. She has just begun to show signs of cutting teeth. So some days she is a little on the fussy side. She is doing some better with her Acid reflux and still taking meds for that. We go to her 6 month Check up next week.
She loves her big brothers and watches everywhere they go and just laughs at them. Kyle is so ruff with her where Caleb is gentle and loving. The boys just protect her anytime other kids come around her. It is so sweet. I pray that continues as she gets older.

She will be going on her second trip to the Smokies since she has been born. We are leaving out tomorrow headed to Townsend to stay in a cabin. Andy will be working at Fontana Dam Wednesday and Thursday and me and the kids will be adventuring. :) Not real sure what we will do but it will be fun nonetheless. Friday we will head home sometime. I am looking forward to getting away from everyday life for a few days.

Two Days in a Row...

Can you believe it?? I am writing again today!! Haha

Had such a wonderful time this morning at Ladies Breakfast at Chase Park Church of Christ. It truly was a wonderful uplifting lesson from Brandi! (even though I was rocking Addie to sleep during it). After it was over I helped mom pack up over 100 different Lighthouses in every possible fashion!! I really had no idea she had that many in their house. Anything that had a lighthouse on it it was there this morning. Mom and Nicole you did a great job! Then mom and I left the church at about 11:30 and headed to the Craft Show. Which is our most favorite thing to do!!

Thanks mom for the memories I pray that we have many more of these together with Miss. Addie in tow! I love my mommy time and I hope she will cherish time with me like I do my mom.
Oh the days with all five of us together are the most fun!! Now that Abdy works 10 hour days we get him every Friday! We have gotten lots lots of little projects done around the house the past three weeks. We have bought the kids a swing set, built a fire pit with a brick area around it and now we are moving our swing to the back.

With all the nice weather outside the boys have loved it and so have I not being cramp in the house. Caleb has just become such a bigger helper while Andy has worked outside. And Kyle is just running everywhere he can go!

Today we had pictures taken by my cousin Leah and then had a picnic at Big Spring Park. Oh the boys loved it, well except for the picture part haha. We could not get them both to smile at the same time for nothing. They wanted to through rocks at the fish or climb on the rocks or make silly faces. But that is ok too maybe one day I will get them both smiling. The joys of my boys always makes me smile. We tried to get Adeline to sit for some pictures but just do ready for that.

What is Rest?????

I realized today that it had been a week sense I had wrote anything. It has been a very busy week. We were so busy over the weekend just enjoying having Andy home on Friday was so nice. We went shoe shopping for the kids and then had supper at a Ichiban (Japanese restaurant) it is kind of like a Shogun just in Marshall county. Hahaha but the boys were loving the dinner show and if course the food was delicious.

Saturday I was busy getting ready for Tracey's baby shower until about 10:30 when I was getting Caleb ready an pulled on his arm to comb his hair and well that was a trip to the ER. He had nurses maid elbow. Which is where the tendon rolls over the bone and pulls and obviously really hurts. Poor guy but he was a big boy and did not cry to bad. But we did make it to the shower and enjoyed it.

Andy has had a very hard week at work with all the rain it makes his job very nerve racking since he works on Dams on the Tennessee River. He has worked 12 hours a day since Tuesday. But thankfully he is off tomorrow. We are hopefully going to get a wooden play set for the kids and then going to eat with my family for Andy's birthday (that was in February).

I have been planning our trip to Colorado in May and I am getting so excited about it.

Catch up!

It has been awhile since I posted something! So let's get caught up!

The boys are much better and finished up their mess yesterday. Caleb has some allergies going on but nothing to bad.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather this past weekend. Saturday we ate at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then went to Lowe's. We got some indoor plants and the boys new shovels. They came home and played so hard and dug a ton of holes. It was such a good day. :-)

Andy started working 10 hour days 4 days a week on Monday so it has been some long days with out him. Also Caleb started Sunday not taking naps so night time is just awful right now. He is so whiny and tired. Not sure how to fix that but it helps at night putting him to bed. He is out in less than 10 minutes where it use to take us about an hour to get him asleep.

We have played a lot outside this week and done some yard work too. Caleb and I have had so much fun trimming bushes while Kyle and Addie take their naps. He is becoming such a big boy it just seems like yesterday he was having his first birthday. He will be 4 in June.

Tomorrow starts our first day with Andy home on Fridays. Not sure what we will end up doing but I am really looking forward to more time with him. Since he took the job with TVA he leaves at 5:30 and does not get him till almost 6 now. So having every Friday will be nice. I can't believe he has been with TVA for a year in April. Time flies.

Well time for me to finish things up so I can hit the sack. It was a busy day today. I went ribbon shopping and came home and made 8 bows for a friend and for Tracey's new baby girl. Can't wait for her shower on Saturday!

Almost back to Normal!

We made it home on Tuesday and had all the kiddos back home by 7:00pm. It was so good to get hugs and kisses from the boys. But they were so sick. Kyle has been so pitiful this week. Today is the first day he has actually played and not been whiny. Caleb you would not even know he has Strep.
Yesterday I had to go run a few errands with ALL the kids. So I get everyone loaded up and we head out. We are on our way to the bank when Kyle coughs and then throws up in the car. Caleb out of reflux he throws up too. Lucky I was close to home so I just came on home and put them in the tub. Oh but before he left Caleb had a horrible diaper and when I laid him down to change him it went all over the carpet and up his back. It was a rough morning but we made it through the day and poor Kyle cried himself to sleep last night cause his ear was hurting. :(
Eventful days like yesterday make me a better mommy I do believe. I hate it when they are that pitiful and helpless.

Today is a much better day the boys are so much better and playing. Just hoping Kyle will eat today. I am sorry for all the graphics earlier but I just wanted to document the day. Hahaha like I will forget it.
Hope you all have a great day!

Heading Home!

So glad to be heading home to Alabama today!  Found out this morning that the boys woke up with fever and headaches.  So off to the Doctor my in laws went with the boys.  She just called and Caleb has Strep and Kyle has an ear infection.  So this trip has been good for us but not for my in laws.  I am glad the boys did get to go to the Zoo yesterday and have fun with Mawmaw and Pappy riding the tractor there and seeing all the animals! On the other hand the child that I was most worried about was Adeline and I talked to my mom this morning and she has been an Angel!

Time has flown by while we have been here but today it is running slow. Hoping I can have some pictures posted here afterwhile from our trip!

Missing my Babies

We have had a great day but are so ready to see our kids.  We visited Universal Studios today and have laughed at how much we have screamed like kids riding the Mummy and the Rip Rock It. But it has been such a easy day.  It is amazing all the things we can do when we don't have to work around kids naps and them needing to potty and eat.  hahaha  In the past three days we have seen enough tattoos and butts we are not wanting to see anymore.  hahaha
Tomorrow we head back home.  So Alabama we are coming back around 4 watch out we are revived parents.  :)

Have a good night I am off to bed!

Orlando Anniversary Trip

We are having a good time here in Orlando. We arrived Saturday about 2:30 and took an expensive taxi ride to the hotel. We got unloaded and off to find something. We ended up going to a Titanic Dinner Experience here on International Blvd. I highly recommend for adults. The food was very good and the experience was so much fun. We were afraid we would miss our Trolley back but we didn't. Haha
Sunday we got up and went to church at Maingate Church of Chirst (inside Baymont Inn and Suites Celebration hotel) we had a wonderful service and actually met people from Lawrenceburg that my parents knew. Haha After church we headed to Universal Island of Adventure to see Harry Potter World. But we could not get into the Harry Potter World until 2:20 due to the amount of people. So we did a few other things in Jurassic Park and Poesiedion's journey. Then Off to Harry Potter we went. Had a awesome time riding the Forbidden Journey and the Dragons, walking Hogsmeade and eating at the Three Broomsticks. We had our Butter Beer which tasted like cream soda (for non Harry Potter Fans it is not real beer). We got back to our hotel and crashed!!
So Today is a new adventure will post later!!

A new day of....

Today is a new day of last minute errands and packing for our trip. It is so funny at how much stuff the kids need at this stage just to go to grandparents houses. Hahaha that or they are just rotten and will be even more rotten when they get back home. We will definitely have to DETOX the boys when they come home Tuesday night.

Caleb was helping me yesterday pack alittle bit and he said "where are you going?" I told him "you and Kyle are going to maw maw and Pappy's and Addie is going to Granmommy and Pops house me and daddy are going to go ride on an Airplane." he said "I go to mommy". He was so upset cause he was not going. :( so I promised a surprise and I better come back with one!! ;) I love my kids an will really miss them. They are at such a fun age and make me laugh when things make me sad. Children truly do put a smile one my face.

Well, I am now waiting for the boys to fall asleep so I can sneak out of their room and finish up laundry and eveything else I find to do. :)

1 MORE DAY!!!! oh I am so excited I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

2 more DAYS

Andy and I set out for a 4 day Vacation/ Anniversary trip with no kids on Saturday. So today I have been finalizing hotels and trying to get transportation figured out without it costing us a fortune to get around Orlando. So I think we will use the trolley most of the time and I guess a taxi to get to church on Sunday. We will be visiting Universal Studios and Island of Adventure on this trip. We are really excited and so ready to go. Just hoping that we both feel better before we leave, we both have head colds. :(

I can already tell that I am really going to miss my kids but it will be good for us both to get away from everyday life and just have fun. Andy and I realized that we both have not been on a roller coaster in like 10 years so we will see just how sore I will be. Hahaha.

I still have lots of packing and laundry to finish up of course with 5 of us there is always laundry and cleaning around here.

Busy Busy Busy

We are constantly on the go it seems. Monday consisted of laundry then leaving to take stuff to Kids Market (a two week consignment sale), getting Adeline's medicine refilled which took an hour to do. My sweet mother in law came and watched all three kids for me.
Today has consisted of taking the boys to mother's day out, grocery shopping, delivering AVON and cleaning my house.
Andy and I are leaving on a 4 day trip to Orlando so packing will be my priorty the rest of the week. The boys are staying with Andy's parents and Adeline is staying with my parents so there is lots of packing to be done before Saturday. Packing for three different places will be a little challenging. Hahaha

Hoping the week slows down so that I can get everything done. I need the house to be show ready JUST IN CASE someone wants to look at it. This house selling business is getting old but we have got to get a bigger house.
I guess that is all for now I need to get back to cleaning and laundry. :)

Today is Andy's Birthday! So a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you ANDY. I love you.

We will be going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast which is also my other kitchen with maids (we eat there A LOT). This time we are going to celebrate mine, Andy's and my Brother-in-law David's birthday because the whole month of January we had sickness or snow everytime we planned to get together for David and mine.

Today will hold lots of possibilities from looking at a new car for Andy to looking at Campers. It Saturday so we may do both. Haha.
Hope you all have a good day that are reading this morning.

Keeping up with Life

Well today I started my first ever Blog. I wanted some way to document what our family was up to on a day to day basis and this was a way I could instead of always on Facebook. :)

So.... Welcome to the Journey in the Norris World! Hope you enjoy the Adventures we will be taking. I still don't have everything set up yet but give me time I do have three little ones.

We are headed to Chuckie Cheese tonight for Miss. Hannah Hastings birthday party. (Caleb says it is his party). Haha
